I continued my wandering on US 2. What a road! Two lanes and except for an occasional interruption by a town (every 15-20 miles?) there is just vast open range land. On the east coast we are used to seeing houses spread out between towns. And while there might be a lone house every five to eight miles, seeing a lone house is rare.
I have tried to take in all that I have seen. But my reference point is so foreign that much of what I have seen sort of blurs together. But I will take away from this drive along US 2 that I am very glad I made the decision to drive it. I've been exposed to part of the country that is vast, remote and beautiful. And flat! That's why it is called the Great Plains!
I am 90 miles away from Glacier so I am about to leave the plains and enter the mountains.
